It’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM)! Observed every October, NCSAM was created as a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure every American has the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online. Throughout this month, the SU Offie of Information Technology will be sharing tips and tricks that you can use to stay safe online.
Phishing attacks and scams have thrived since the COVID pandemic began in 2020 and today, phishing attacks account for more than 80 percent of reported security incidents. Think before you click on any suspicious emails, links, or attachments and make sure to report any suspicious emails with the SU Phish Alert Button within Outlook! You can report suspicious emails with just one click and that email will be deleted from your inbox to prevent future exposure. The button appears within your Outlook Ribbon and in the Outlook Mobile App open the email and click on the three dots in the top right corner then select Phish Alert from the pop up box.
