I continue to be
blown away by how
deeply our community
cares for and supports
our University.

– Dr. Lepre

Dear Sea Gulls,

Looking back on my first year as President of Salisbury University, I am humbled and filled with gratitude to be able to call a place so special as this home. This community has welcomed me, and my family, like no other has before. We have lived in many places as a family – nearly every corner of this country – but we can truthfully say no place has been so kind, generous or welcoming as the Salisbury community has. It often takes time for somewhere new to feel like home, but Salisbury is the exception to that rule. My family and I have felt at home here since the very beginning.

Throughout the past year, I have had the incredible opportunity to learn and experience so much about what makes SU special. Much of my year was spent listening and learning from our faculty, staff, students, alumni and local community, and I am grateful to have been able to meet with so many people and hear their stories. I continue to be blown away by how deeply our community cares for and supports our University.

There were truly so many moments to celebrate this past year, and I hope you take time to learn about many of them highlighted in the pages that follow. Our alumni, faculty and students were behind some incredibly memorable moments.

Explore the success of our recent alumni who became part of SU history when they earned prestigious Fulbright Student Awards, as well as the numerous alumni from the Seidel School of Education who were named teachers of the year in their respective counties. Three of our exceptional faculty were honored with the University System of Maryland Board of Regents Faculty Award, and our year ended on a wonderful high note with the SU Men’s Lacrosse Team winning the NCAA National Championship.

We have undoubtedly had quite the year at SU, and I am excited to see what incredible things are in store for us this year, and I invite you to continue to be a part of the journey!

Sincerely,

Dr. Carolyn R. Lepre
