where Sea Gull pride
is contagious.
Dear Sea Gulls,
It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as your new SU Alumni Association president. I graduated with my undergraduate degree in 2014 in accounting and went on to earn a Master of Business Administration in 2015. As a lifelong resident of the Eastern Shore, I know the importance that Salisbury University has both socially and economically in the region.
I would be remiss if I didn’t thank my predecessor Dr. Lili Leonard for her service to the SU Alumni Association and Salisbury University. Lili set the bar extremely high with her accomplishments during her two terms. Her passion, leadership and philanthropy have supported SU’s mission of being a student-centered campus, which is a tremendous example for all of us to follow.
As President Carolyn Lepre starts her second year in office, I look forward to our board working with her to engage our alumni base in new and exciting ways. She is continuing to travel across the country to connect with our alumni and hear your stories of the past so we can make SU’s future one that we can be proud of together. I encourage you to visit the SU Alumni Association website to see where SU on the Road will make its next stop so you can gather with other alums and meet President Lepre.
It is crucially important to the life of Salisbury University that you stay engaged with your Alma Mater. The relationships we formed as students with our fellow students, faculty, staff and coaches are what make SU a special place. Thank you to all who participated in another record-setting Giving Day. Giving back to the area of campus that means the most to you is a great way to help the next generation of Sea Gulls and enhance the value of your own degree. The alumni giving percentage is a part of the U.S. News & World Report score, adding to the prestige of the institution. Maintaining a strong ranking enables SU to attract the best and brightest faculty in their fields and engaged students from across the country and around the world.
Salisbury University is a special place where Sea Gull pride is contagious, and I urge you to come back to campus. If you have a class reunion coming up or if you were involved with a sport or club that has an anniversary, make the time to reconnect. Time is our most precious resource, so don’t waste another year away from your Sea Gull family. I look forward to meeting you at our Flock Party during Alumni Homecoming & Family Weekend on Saturday, October 28.
Once a Sea Gull, Always a Sea Gull!
