Dear Colleagues:
I’m sending a second invitation to ask you to apply for the second Ethics Across the Curriculum Faculty Workshop, to be held during the Fall 2023 semester. This workshop will gather faculty from across all four schools and CHHS and the Library to discuss ethics education, the role of ethics in their disciplines, ethical reasoning and dialogue, the application of ethics in teaching and scholarship, as well as theoretical and structural concerns that arise in thinking through ethical problems. We will focus specifically on implementing new approaches to ethics in your teaching: new approaches to course content and ethics-based activities, developing our own skills in ethical reasoning and exploring new models for ethics discussion, as well as exploring how to write and adapt case studies and design ethics assessments. The workshop will have a contract for implementation of your chosen activity and will carry a $750 stipend. This workshop is supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities “Connections” grant and the REACH initiative.
We have several stipends still available will be meeting at the Philosophy House from 3:30pm-5:30pm starting on 8/29, meeting every other week (on weeks alternate from the Faculty Senate regular meetings.)
If you are interested in applying, simply fill out this survey, and if you have any questions please contact facilitator Timothy Stock (testock@salisbury.edu). Details on meeting time options are available in the interest survey.
Thank you and warm regards for the coming semester!
