SALISBURY, MD—Salisbury University has announced Michael Jensen as its new executive director of entrepreneurship in the Dave and Patsy Rommel Center for Entrepreneurship.
Jensen comes to SU from Lackawanna College in Scranton, PA, where he served as business instructor and director of the college’s Venture Lab. He also is president of Market Invasion, LLC, a management consulting and professional services business.
“Michael brings over 20 years of business and technology management expertise to SU’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business,” said Dr. Christy Weer, dean of the Perdue School. “I am looking forward to the continued success of the Rommel Center under his leadership.”
Jensen’s expertise includes entrepreneurship, economic development, makerspaces, business planning, market research, project management, and six years of international business experience leading global project teams in Europe, Africa and Asia.
“I will be building upon the impressive entrepreneurship foundation SU already has with its student and community competitions and the platform provided by the Rommel Center,” said Jensen. “I hope to use my strengths to fine tune initiatives and expand the center’s offerings to garner even more entrepreneur users from communities both on and off campus.”
Jensen’s goals for the center include expanding makerspace programming through recent TEDCO funding, increasing academic engagement through SU course partnerships, and assisting underrepresented populations with entrepreneurship resources and center access to kickstart their business initiatives.
He earned his M.B.A. at the University of Phoenix and B.A. from Columbia International University.
