SALISBURY, MD—The Salisbury University Police Department (SUPD) enhances campus and community safety by ensuring officers remain up to date on the latest tactics, technologies and strategies.

Lexipol, the nation’s leading provider of policy, training and wellness support for first responders, has recognized the department’s excellence in training in these areas and more. Through its Lexipol Connect program, the company recently presented the SUPD with Silver recognition — one of the highest levels available — for its efforts in 2022.

“Training is central to the safety of our personnel and our community, and to the success of our agency’s mission,” said SUPD Lt. Chris Shockley. “We are proud to be recognized by Lexipol Connect for ensuring our personnel are prepared to respond to the needs of our community.”

Lexipol Connect tracked the SUPD’s performance in five metrics, including average hours of training assigned and completed, personnel engagement, and external training activities. The Silver recognition honored the SUPD not only for meeting performance standards in these metrics, but for doing so consistently and effectively.
