Mobile Security

Mobile devices have become increasingly more integrated into our everyday lives. Internet browsing activity used to be limited to desktops, but now mobile devices are the preferred way to browse the internet. Users carry mobile devices with them wherever they go, so the worry about physical attacks (e.g., theft and loss) and virtual threats from third-party applications and Wi-Fi hotspots is high.

There are two main physical threats to a mobile device: data loss and theft. Should the device be stolen, it should be protected with a PIN, fingerprint, or face recognition. If several attempts fail at getting into the device, the system will protect you by locking the phone. Third-party applications also introduce several issues to mobile device security, including malware and viruses. It is important to install protection on your mobile device to ensure your data is safe. Most cellular providers have free versions of this available to you.
