It is with great pleasure that the SU Libraries recognize Michele Schlehofer of the Psychology Department as the September-October winner of the SU Libraries Information Literacy Partner of the Month Award. Tina Plottel, Research and Instructional Services Librarian and liaison to Psychology, nominated her, writing:
We’ve worked together on several classes, but this fall she brought her PSYC 415 (Community and Applied Psychology) class over for two sessions to help them with their Wiki project. They are working in conjunction with the Wicomico Truth and Reconciliation Initiative to edit or create pages that deal with racial injustices on the Eastern Shore. The sessions we did showed students how to use APA PsycInfo as well as newspaper databases; some students even found resources in the Nabb Center! I believe this will be an ongoing project.
The SU Libraries have been supporting the Wicomico Truth and Reconciliation Initiative’s work through the Nabb Center, and we are delighted to see this combination of information literacy and civic engagement. Congratulations, Dr. Schlehofer!
