laptop computer with the words digital w-2 on the screen

This is an important reminder from the Comptroller of Maryland to inform Maryland State employees that you can sign up to receive your W-2s electronically using Central Payroll Bureau’s POSC portal. By accessing W-2s electronically, you help our state agency lower the costs of paper, envelopes, and mailing, in addition to decreasing our climate impact!

Upon consenting to ONLY receiving form W-2 electronically, Central Payroll will NOT print and mail a paper copy to you. Salisbury University employees are encouraged to sign up and consent using “Signup/Modify W-2 Web Only Access” using POSC.

There are several advantages to signing up:

  • Early access to your form W-2 (mid-January)
  • No more waiting for paper W-2 to arrive in the mail Paper W-2s will be mailed on January 31st.
  • Eliminate paper W-2 delivery issues with US mail – lost or misdirected mail and protect sensitive information.
  • Increased privacy of your personal information and protection against identity theft by reducing the number of people who could access your data.
  • Access your W-2 in a secured environment.
  • View and print your W-2 from anywhere you have secured internet access.
  • Electronic form W-2 is eco-friendly. You are helping to reduce costs of printing and mailing fees to the State.
  • You can switch back to paper delivery if you so choose.

Please log on to POSC before December 17, 2023, to ensure electronic-only delivery of your tax year 2023 form W-2.   If you are a first time user of the POSC site, you will need our AGENCY CODE 360229 and your most recent check/advice number for which you can email Payroll@Salisbury.edu to request.

If you have registered for electronic W-2 previously, there is no reason to do so again. If you do go back in to check your W-2 status, it will automatically reset to NO so you will need to correct to YES again before logging out.

The answers to most questions can be found in the FAQs under Help Topics on the POSC website . If you still have any questions, you can contact POSC by email: poschelp@marylandtaxes.gov
