It is with great pleasure that the SU Libraries recognize Viktoria Basham of the Honors College as the November-December winner of the SU Libraries Information Literacy Partner of the Month Award. Angeline Prichard, Research and Instructional Services Librarian and liaison to Honors, and Emily Zerrenner, Research and Instructional Services Librarian, nominated her, writing:

While we have a longstanding positive relationship with the Honors 111 program, Dr. Basham is still eager to discuss new ways to support the students in her classes. Her communication around assignments, students’ topics and progress, and what more we can do is always open and engaged. I have multiple meetings with her students in class and regularly see them come in for consultations after she has sent them my way. We have also been working diligently on the HONR 211 course enhancement grant for the Spring, keeping in regular communication, rather than leaving things to the last minute (greatly appreciated by this librarian!). Dr. Basham also invited librarian Emily Zerrenner to give a guest lecture on ChatGPT to help HONR 111 students navigate this new technology, explore the ethical considerations surrounding it, and ultimately make their own informed decisions on using it.

Congratulations, Dr. Basham!
