The Salisbury University Women’s Forum (SUWF) invites you
to join us at our 8th Annual International Women’s Day Conference
Theme: Inspire Inclusion: It Matters
Friday, March 8, 2024 | 1-4 pm in Worcester Room
“When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.”
In our world there is a great need for inclusion of all to find better ways forward. As we consider the war and violence, the persisting inequalities, and our polarized discourse, it is evident to us that we must do a better job at cultivating inclusion for all: on our campus, in our town, and hopefully, in the world. Inclusion matters.
We invite a wide range of disciplinary approaches and questions in relation to the conference theme and to International Women’s Day. You may want to think about how your work addresses inclusion regarding matters of gender, race, social class, disability, and culture. You may want to look at how your practice inspires inclusion, or how it falls short, and why. You may want to share with us an example of someone whose work you think should be included in our curriculum or canon, and still is not. You may want to reflect on access to reproductive justice for all. Or you may want to think about supporting women and girls’ leadership and promoting their creative and artistic talents. We look forward to hearing from you!
This exciting and fast-moving afternoon is rather like a tapa tasting of intellectual delights. We hope you will submit a proposal for a ten-minute presentation. Each presentation is allotted five minutes for questions and answers. The conference also accepts proposals for poster presentations.

We will promptly finalize selections and get back to you. We will ask for your PowerPoint presentations by February 23. Save the afternoon of March 8 from 1- 4 for the event.
