Fernanda Carriedo SU Economics Alumni Spotlight: Fernanda graduated from Salisbury University in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a minor in Mathematics. Currently she is first year Ph.D. student in Economics at the University of Tennessee with full funding for five years. She credits her success and academic pursuits to the unwavering support and guidance she received from the faculty at Salisbury University, who played a crucial role in shaping her path and fostering her enthusiasm for economics.

Dr. Ying Wu’s paper entitled “Risk-Averse Corporate Investment Behavior and the Effectiveness of Quantitative Easing” is accepted for publication in the International Review of Economics and Finance. This paper analyzes the conditions under which risk-averse investment behavior in a liquidity trap can render quantitative easing ineffective.

Dr. Brad Lee’s paper titled “Distributed service with proximal capacity and pricing on a two-sided sharing economy platform” was recently distinguished among the top five finalists and received an honorable mention for the 2024 Jack Meredith Best Paper Award at the Journal of Operations Management. The journal is rated as an “A*” publication in the ‘Business and Management’ category of the Australia Business Deans Council rankings and as a “Category 1” journal in the CNRS rankings.
