Since 2009, Maryland has recognized October as Disability History and Awareness Month. Throughout the month, the Disability Resource Center (DRC) and Delta Alpha Pi (DAP) will raise awareness, honor neurodiversity, and acknowledge the significant contributions and achievements of individuals with disabilities. Celebrating Disability History and Awareness Month on our campus is a meaningful way to foster a sense of belonging, deepen understanding of disability-related issues, promote the social model of disability, and highlight the importance of accessibility and inclusion for ALL students!
