2025 Benefits Open Enrollment is almost here! This is your annual opportunity to make election changes to your health benefits. This year, Open Enrollment will take place beginning on Tuesday, October 15 and closing promptly at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 8.
While Open Enrollment does not begin until October 15th, we’re providing some important information you can access now: the 2025 Health Benefits Guide is available!
What Should You Know for 2025?
- MedImpact will replace CVS Caremark as the Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM).
- Wellness activities reset for the 2025 and 2026 calendar years.
- Healthcare FSA maximum will increase to $3,200 for the 2025 calendar year.
- Reminder: FSA elections do not carry over from year to year, you must re-enroll each year.
- Medicare-eligible retirees must enroll in a Medicare Part D plan by calling Via Benefits at 855-556-4419. This does not apply to those enrolled in active employee coverage.

Save the Date: An Open Enrollment Health Fair will take place on SU’s campus on Tuesday, October 29 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the GSU Wicomico Room. Take advantage of this opportunity to speak with State benefits representatives in person!

- Non-Medicare Retiree + Domestic Partner w/Medicare
IMPORTANT: Be Prepared in Advance – When adding a new or re-enrolled dependent, the State of Maryland has Dependent Documentation Requirements, and the appropriate documentation must be attached to your enrollment election. Dependents added without the correct documentation will be removed from coverage prior to the new plan year. Dependents who are dis-enrolled remain ineligible unless they experience a qualified family status change or until the next Open Enrollment period.
