The Salisbury University Women’s Forum (SUWF) invites you to join us at our annual conference on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 12:30-4:00 pm in the Worcester Room.
‘Accelerate Action’ is a worldwide call to acknowledge the strategies, resources and activity that positively impact women’s advancement, and to support and elevate their implementation. This call to accelerate action could not be more timely.
Around the world women are being told they cannot speak in public, leave the house without a male relative, or make decisions about their own bodies.
Maternal mortality is on the rise in the United States and around the world.
Women and children in war zones are paying a horrendous price in lives lost and destroyed.
Online gender violence disproportionally targets those who identify as female.
Reproductive rights are under threat in the United States since the overturn of Roe vs Wade.
Gender employment gaps and gender wage gaps need to be closed. In our world there is a great and urgent need to find better ways forward. We need to accelerate action to ensure justice for all.
We invite a wide range of disciplinary approaches and questions in relation to the conference theme Accelerate Action for women’s equality and to International Women’s Day.
We welcome ten-minute presentations to get us all thinking about these and other questions:
-How does my work address actions needed to advance equality in matters of gender, race, social class, disability, and culture?
-How does my practice inspire others to take action and why?
-What is a good example of actions, projects, campaigns that contribute to a more equal world?
-How can we protect access to reproductive justice for all?
-How can we best support women and girls’ leadership and promote their creative and artistic talents?
We look forward to hearing from you!
