The FMA at SU is the leading student association dedicated to finance majors, minors and all students interested in a career in finance. Since its inception in 1988, FMA has been at the vanguard of bringing successful professionals to campus, enabling networking opportunities for students and exposure to the real world through its guest speaker series.

History behind the establishment ofFMA Chapter at SU
During Financial Management Association National Meeting in 1987, Dr. Kashi Khazeh inquired about creating a chapter at Salisbury University. Subsequently, in 1988, With the approval of the Financial Management Association, Dr. Kashi Khazeh secured the charter for establishment of FMA Chapter (including National Honor Society) at Salisbury University. The FMA at SU is the leading student association dedicated to finance majors, minors and all other students interested in a career in finance.
Since its inception in 1988, FMA chapter at SU has been at the frontline of bringing successful professionals, enabling networking opportunities for students, and exposure to the real world through guest speaker series who share their experience each semester. Not only students are greatly appreciative of the diverse set of guest speakers (including alumni who wanted to give back to their alma mater), learning from their experience helps students expand the boundless opportunities in the financial services industry and beyond.
Additionally, since its inception, not only has FMA through fundraising and other sources, made it possible for the SU Chapter members to have their annual visit to New York’s financial district but also to establish an endowment to support the annual monetary award to the SU chapter officers’ who have demonstrated outstanding leadership to advance the chapter’s agenda. The first award was given in 2014. Furthermore, the SU chapter of FMA named ““FMA” Team Study Room” in the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business in 2011. In 2008 – 2009 academic year, Financial Association International named Dr. Kashi Khazeh “FMA Superior Faculty Advisor.” After 30 years of serving as the founding advisor of the SU chapter, Dr. Khazeh passed the torch to FMA’s associate advisor Dr. Ani Mathers.
