The Seidel School of Education considers every education major a teacher candidate as soon as they step onto SU’s campus. By offering school-embedded courses on-site with our partner schools during their very first year, instructors can easily blend learning about teaching with clinical rounds that provide firsthand experiences seeing teachers in action in pK12 classrooms.

We are grateful to our partners in Wicomico County Public Schools who have hosted these embedded courses at North Salisbury, Mardela Middle and High School, and Parkside High School for many years.

Parkside High School also welcomed three Federal Work Study students as part of SU’s commitment to the Partnership for Student Success Higher Education Coalition, a White House partnership challenge by the Biden Administration. This initiative asks institutions of higher education to commit at least 7% of their Federal Work Study student workforce to serve as academic tutors, mentors, post-secondary transition coaches, student success coaches and student support coordinators in partnership with their local public schools.
