Using Design Tools for Interactive Course Content on March 18 from 5 – 6 p.m.
Cidi DesignPlus Tools are meant for instructors with no coding or HTML experience. They are menu driven design tools that work in Canvas/MyClasses. These design tools enable instructors and course designers to create interactive, accessible, and professional looking course content in the most efficient way. This toolset provides not only the ability to create more engaging course design, but also the ability to manage course content from a central location through the Multi-Tool’s template creator, due date modifier, and module builder. Participants will explore the features and functionality of various tools in the DesignPlus Toolset. This hands-on workshop will allow you to use these tools to practice building course design elements with an instructional designer there to assist you if you have any questions. If you have taken this workshop before and wish to learn more advanced skills using these tools, please contact Karen Silverstrim for part two of this workshop series.

Authentic Assessments on March 19 from 5 – 6 p.m.
An authentic assessment is one that is realistic for the student. It requires judgement and innovation to complete it, and it requires the student to apply what they have learned to a novel problem. An authentic assessment should mirror (as close as you can for the level of student) what the professionals in your field do as part of their job. In this session, we will discuss and share examples of authentic assessment and you will have time to reflect on assessments you currently utilize that may be shifted to a more authentic form of activity.
