The Perdue School of Business was well represented at the Career Fair Discovery Day event held at Pittsville Middle School. This event is to open the minds of the students to the possible career paths they can pursue by talking to a variety of employers.
This was on the Friday, March 21, 2025, during spring break holidays. Prof. Bill Burke of the Information Systems and Operations Management department, Prof. Susanne Holloway of the Accounting and Legal Studies department and Prof. Leonard Arvi of the department of finance engaged over three hundred students.
Students were eager to learn about the different business majors and possible career opportunities that await them. Fifteen different employers representing a variety of industries such as health care, utilities, construction, mental health counseling, heating and cooling, etc. were present. This event was organized by Ms. Amy Rhodes, the career coach at Mardela High School, part of the Wicomico County Public School system.
