On April 24, 2024, the Department of Justice (DOJ) ruled that all digital content will need to be accessible regardless of space (public-facing or behind a login), in alignment with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This rule sets the standard that state and local governments (including universities like SU) must meet WCAG 2.1, Level AA guidelines to legally meet digital accessibility standards. The deadlines for Salisbury University to meet this standard, as part of the University System of Maryland collective, is April 24, 2026. This virtual webinar, hosted by Haley Cristea in ID&D and Candace Henry in the DRC, will help explain what this ruling means and provide information and recommendations on how to get starting in making your space accessible by April 2026. Bring your questions and we’ll help clarify the WCAG standards, resources available, and support on campus.

Who is this webinar for? Everyone! This ruling affects students, staff, and faculty!
