This summer, Kelly Coutts, a doctoral student in Salisbury University’s Ed.D. in Literacy Studies program, will bring her passion for global education to South America through the prestigious Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms international exchange program.
As part of this transformative experience, Kelly will travel to Peru in June, where she will research the country’s impressively high literacy rates and examine the educational practices that contribute to this national success. Her work will focus on understanding how Peruvian schools foster literacy across diverse communities and what lessons can be brought back to enhance literacy instruction in the U.S.
Kelly’s participation in this global initiative reflects her commitment to cross-cultural collaboration and educational equity—hallmarks of the Fulbright mission and the core of Salisbury University’s literacy leadership program.
We look forward to hearing more about Kelly’s insights and the connections she builds through this remarkable opportunity.
