The Seidel School of Education is happy to announce 115 SU teacher candidates are recipients of the Teaching Fellows for Maryland Scholarship. Together, these students were awarded over $2.8 million in tuition assistance and support for living costs for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Seidel Dean’s Office hosted a pizza lunch and ice cream social for our SU Teaching Fellows on December 10 in the Guerrieri Student Union Fireside Lounge. The Teaching Fellows for Maryland Scholarship is awarded to students who pledge to teach in a public school in Maryland for two years upon completion of their studies. Eligibility criteria and application requirements can be found online at mhec.maryland.gov (search for “Teaching Fellows”). The 2025-2026 application is scheduled to open in April 2025.
Applicants for the Teaching Fellows for Maryland Scholarship must submit the online application through their MDCAPS account.
