The Rho Eta chapter of Kappa Delta Pi at Salisbury University endeavors to celebrate our pre-service teachers and proud alumni who are dedicated to serving our local school communities during the E. Pauline Riall Award Series. We recognize that while some of our graduates leave the Eastern Shore to pursue futures elsewhere, the graduates who remain close to campus often become local leaders on whom we rely. These local graduates provide guidance to our aspiring teachers each semester and continuously support our students from year to year. Most importantly, our graduates become guiding lights for their school communities, leading by example in all aspects of their professional roles.
The fall 2024 teachers recognized by Kappa Delta Pi include:

Emma Brant – Dorchester County

Emma Brant – Wicomico County

Michael Shumate Jr. – Worcester County

Erin Walbert – Somerset County
Our award winners exemplify our best hopes for our KDP graduates: the professional development, community service and leadership displayed during their careers on the Eastern Shore, from which their school and local community have benefitted. Each of our award winners serves as an exemplary role model to our current KDP members, pre-service and in-service teachers alike, as they strive for excellence from the classroom.
