Thank you to everyone for participating in the Zoom to Teams Survey distributed by the Office of Information Technology last month. Your input has provided valuable insights into how our campus utilizes web conferencing tools and is helping shape future decisions.
Survey results highlight two key trends:
- Zoom remains the primary choice for academic instruction and departmental meetings.
- Teams has gained significant adoption for administrative use and webinars, particularly due to its integration with Microsoft365.
While both platforms offer similar functionality, SU is preparing for a future where Teams becomes our primary web conferencing tool. To support this transition, IT will be expanding training and resources to help faculty, staff, and students become more familiar with Teams and its capabilities.
During this transition period, both Zoom and Teams will remain available. As we enhance campus-wide proficiency with Teams, we aim to reduce the reliance on Zoom over time and will conduct another survey to assess our readiness for this change next year.
We appreciate your engagement in this process and look forward to supporting you as we explore how to best streamline our web conferencing tools for the future.
Thank you,
SU Office of Information Technology
