Part of the Democracy Across the
Disciplines Lecture Series

Join PACE, the Clarke Honors College, Fulton Sustainability Committee, Interdisciplinary Studies, and RCE Salisbury for a year long exploration of local issues and their possible solutions. The program situates each issue within the broader framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This fall we explore three institutions that impact and shape our lives: Schools, Housing systems, and Prisons. Each institution will be the focus of four sessions held on consecutive Monday evenings from 7-8:30 pm in the Worcester Room.

All sessions are free and open to the public. Our next four sessions will include:

Sept. 25:

County teachers and SU faculty discuss “What’s going on in schools?”
Featuring Julia Berg (Bennett Middle School), Chelsea Seabrease (Pinehurst Elementary), Niya Browne, Ruth Malone, and Ron Siers (Seidel School of Education)

Oct. 2:Staff from community organizations discuss “What supports do schools need?”
Featuring JoAnn Blackmon (Epoch Dream Center), Pastor Martin Hutchison (Community of Joy Church), Sara Pease (The Arc), and Leslie Sinclair (Eastern Shore Child Care Resource Center).
Oct. 9: What do we want from and for schools?
Facilitated roundtable discussions will focus on student supports, teacher training, public policy, and the future of schools in Maryland.
