Dr. Christy Weer, Perdue School of Business Dean
Welcome to the Perdue News! Summer is over and we’re back to business. Classes started last Monday and it’s great to see and hear students roaming the halls talking about their experiences over the summer break. We welcomed the second largest class in SU history as well as another record-breaking number of Perdue School students. This is exciting for us and shows that our programs are resonating with prospective students.
In addition to new students, we are welcoming new faculty and staff in the Perdue School.
Michael Jensen joined us this summer as the new executive director of the Dave and Patsy Rommel Center for Entrepreneurship. Mike comes from Lackawanna College in Scranton, PA, where is served as business instructor and director of the college’s Venture Lab. Mike has experience in entrepreneurship, economic development, makerspaces, business planning, market research and project management. He also has six years of international business experience leading global project teams in Europe, Africa, and Asia. We are thrilled to have Mike leading the Rommel Center and look forward to watching the Center grow under his leadership.
We also welcome Jocelyn Briddell as our new business development officer. Jocelyn brings a wealth of relationship development, higher education and fundraising experience, and we are excited that she has joined the Perdue School team.
In addition, we are thrilled to welcome one new tenure-track faculty member into the Perdue School.
Dr. Kyungmin (Brad) Lee joins us as an assistant professor of information and decision sciences. His research and teaching interests intersect across themes from business analytics, information systems, operations and digital supply chain management. Brad has published his papers in the top peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Operations Management and Production and Operations Management. Before joining SU, he was on the faculty of the Information Technology and Analytics Department of the Kogod School of Business at American University. He received a Ph.D. in operations management and an M.S. in mathematical finance from the Questrom School of Business, Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Purdue University.
As always, we hope that you will stop by and see us if you are in the Salisbury area. Get to know our faculty, our staff and our students – I know that you will be impressed! We would love to have you join us at one (or all) of these events.
