2023 BOR Staff Award Winners

It’s time to start the nomination and application process for the 2023-2024 BOR Staff Awards!

The USM Board of Regents Staff Award represents the highest honor bestowed by the Board of Regents for the achievements of our exempt and non-exempt staff employees.  Each awardee will receive a $2,000 stipend and a plaque to recognize this professional achievement.  Salisbury University has a longstanding tradition of an employee winning at least one award every year.  For more information, please visit the Board of Regents website: USM Board of Regents Staff Award – Information

There are two awards given in each of the five (5) categories outlined on the attached document with an award for non-exempt and an award for exempt staff.  This means SU can submit TEN nominations for consideration. CUSS has provided nomination packets in both Spanish and English in hopes to increase the number of nominations and subsequent recognition of our diverse staff of this prestigious award.  SU has a truly remarkable workforce! Please consider nominating a staff member you feel is deserving of this honor. Staff can also self-nominate.

SU has a preliminary application process which includes a thorough review of our applications to determine which full packets should be submitted to the Council of University System Staff.  The preliminary application is attached along with a description of the award categories.  Please send your preliminary applications to Lisa Gray (LGGRAY@salisbury.edu) by November 3, 2023.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Lisa or I.  We’ll be happy to answer any questions or work with you to help you create a successful nomination packet.

The Board of Regents recognized the achievements of the winners of the 2023 Board of Regents’ Staff Awards at a special breakfast celebration. Our FY23 winners were:

2023 Phillip Brunecz Jr. – Exceptional Contribution to the Institution (Non-Exempt)

2023 Brooke Church – Outstanding Service to Students in an Academic or Residential Environment (Non-Exempt)

Please see your email from Staff Senate with attachments and instructions for submitting a preliminary nomination!
