2024 USM-Sponsored MetLife Benefits Enrollment
Secure your family’s financial future and ensure you’re covered when unexpected events happen.  

Starting Monday, April 1, 2024, if you’re a Regular or CII employee working 20 hours or more per week, you can enroll in USM-sponsored MetLife Life & Long-Term Disability (LTD) benefits, make changes, or cancel your benefits anytime during the year. You’ll no longer need to wait until the Annual Enrollment Period to enroll in or make changes to your benefits!  

Why Enroll?
– Life Insurance: Offers a cost-effective way to support your family’s financial needs in unforeseen circumstances.
– Long-Term Disability Insurance: Provides income protection if you cannot work due to illness or injury, ensuring you have financial support for an extended period.  
Already enrolled and not interested in making changes? Your current coverage will continue seamlessly; no action is required.  

How to Enroll in Optional Life & Long-Term Disability            
1. Visit MetLife USMD Portal.
2. Click the Enroll/View Coverage button.
3. Log in:
Employee ID: Your W Number (e.g., W1123456, no dashes or spaces)
Initial PIN/password: Last four digits of your W number followed by your four-digit birth year (e.g., 34561989)        
4. Update Beneficiaries (if necessary) and review your coverage options.

Be Prepared When You Enroll:  
Make sure to have the following information ready for yourself and any dependents you wish to enroll:
Name, Social Security Number and Date of Birth  

Life Insurance Beneficiaries:  
Update or confirm your beneficiaries’ information, including their name and relationship to you.

Important Notes
– Evidence of Insurability: You may need to provide evidence of insurability to be approved for coverage. To complete your application, look for the Start Your Statement of Health button during enrollment.
– MetLife will review your application and notify you of their decision and the effective date of your coverage.
