  • Name of internship host and location: Whiting-Turner in Salisbury, MD
  • When did you complete your internship? Summer 2023
  • How did you find it? Referred by a friend
  • What was your role and/or some duties? Engineer Intern. My daily duties consisted of assisting my superintendent with any needs on the job site. Tracking work done by certain trades to ensure they are meeting the deadlines of the schedule.
  • Why this particular internship or organization?  I heard good things about them in the area and wanted to expand my knowledge in the construction industry.
  • What was your experience like (favorite part)? My favorite part was meeting all the people of Whiting-Turner. Everybody was very nice and did not mind helping us interns.
  • How has this experience helped you? This internship has helped me by allowing me to expand my knowledge of the construction industry and find a new sector of work I am interested in.
  • What’s next for you? Continue my studies and graduate in May ‘24
  • Advice for other students: Do not be afraid to accept an internship/position in which you have no prior experience. You may just find a new type of work that interests you.
  • Kudos to PSB for providing us with real-world problems through MGMT-490 that we can apply to our internship. Helped me during my internship by being the best intern possible.

  • Name of internship host and location: Trimper Rides of Ocean City
  • When did you complete your internship? Summer 2023
  • How did you find it? I actively searched for internship opportunities in my field of interest through an online job search. After researching various companies and positions, I came across Trimper Rides. 
  • What was your role and/or some duties? I was an intern at the Marketing Management Department. I helped with website management, provided general administration support. assisted in planning and coordinating marketing campaigns, such as special promotions, events, and partnerships with local businesses. I also generated content for website and social media platforms; this involved writing articles and producing short videos to showcase our attractions and events. I regularly attended meetings with the management team to share updates, brainstorm strategies and solutions.
  • Why this particular internship or organization? My family and I have been visiting Trimper Rides almost every summer since I was a kid, and I was really excited to discover that Trimper Rides offered an internship opportunity related to my field of study.
  • What was your experience like (favorite part)? Everyone on the team is super supportive, always willing to lend a helping hand, answer questions, and share their expertise. 
  • How has this experience helped you? I’ve been entrusted with responsibilities that require leadership, such as coordinating and supervising events. These experiences have helped me develop my leadership skills and the ability to guide projects to success.
  • What’s next for you? As I approach my last semester at college and prepare to graduate, I am searching for full-time job opportunities in the field of marketing management. At the same time, I’m also considering further education or professional development programs.
  • Advice for other students? Don’t hesitate to ask for help or clarification when needed! Your supervisors and colleagues are there to support you. But, if you feel that you’re not receiving the support or guidance you need, reach out to your professor for advice.
